Prompt Cheatsheet

Upload a Touchstone (.sNp) file, then describe the plot you want in plain English. Here are 33 examples the plotter understands — click any one to copy it.

Magnitude (return & insertion loss)

Reflection and transmission in dB or linear magnitude.

Phase

Phase response in degrees or radians.

VSWR

Voltage standing wave ratio from a reflection coefficient.

Overlays (multiple traces)

Compare several ports on one axis (same family and metric).

Impedance (Z-parameters)

Impedance magnitude, real, or imaginary parts in ohms.

Admittance (Y-parameters)

Admittance magnitude and real/imaginary parts in siemens.

Smith charts (1-port .s1p files)

Impedance and admittance Smith charts.

Axis range, zoom & gridlines

Set limits, zoom, custom gridlines, or a log frequency axis.

TDR (impedance vs time)

Time-domain reflectometry from any port’s reflection, in ohms or as ρ.

Colors

Assign colors to specific traces.

Tips: Smith charts require a 1-port (.s1p) file. Each plot shares one y-axis, so overlays must use the same parameter family and metric (e.g. S11 + S21 magnitude). You can also refine a plot conversationally — try "now show it in dB" or "zoom to 2–3 GHz".
