AI-powered
AI-powered S-parameter viewer: type the plot you want, skip the menus
Upload a Touchstone (.sNp) file and describe the plot in one sentence — “plot S11 and S21”. No trace menus, no format dropdowns, no axis dialogs: the chart just appears.
Free. No account, no install, nothing to download.
One sentence instead of a dozen clicks
The usual way
- Add a trace
- Pick S11
- Set format to log magnitude
- Add another trace
- Pick S21
- Set format to log magnitude
- Open the axis settings
- Set start to 1 GHz
- Set stop to 6 GHz
- Apply
With AskSNP
“Plot S11 and S21 magnitude in dB from 1 to 6 GHz”
→ Done. One step.
Need a change? Just say it — “now show phase”, “zoom to 2–3 GHz” — instead of hunting for the setting.
Easier, Faster and Smarter!
Type it, don’t configure it
Ask for "the VSWR for S11" or "S21 magnitude in dB, zoomed to 2–3 GHz" and the AI turns the sentence into the finished plot. No menus to find, no option panels to fill in, no plotting script to write — and nothing new to learn, because the request is written the way you already talk about it.
Change the plot by asking
"Now show it in dB", "add S22", "use a log frequency axis": each change is one more sentence, not another trip through the settings to find the right checkbox.
Every common plot, one sentence away
Magnitude in dB or linear scale, return and insertion loss, phase in degrees or radians, VSWR, Z-parameter impedance, Y-parameter admittance, and Smith charts for 1-port files. Overlay traces, set axis ranges and gridlines, or choose trace colors, all by saying so.
TDR: impedance vs time
Ask for "the TDR of port 1" and the reflection at any port becomes impedance in ohms against time, so a connector, via or trace discontinuity shows up where it sits on the line. Ask for it as a reflection coefficient instead, or set the rise time and time window in the same sentence.
What a request looks like
There is no syntax to learn: if a colleague would understand the sentence, so will AskSNP.
“Plot S11 and S21 magnitude in dB”
Return loss and insertion loss overlaid on one frequency axis, in decibels. Two parameters, one sentence, no panel to configure.
“Show the VSWR for S11”
The same reflection data read as a voltage standing wave ratio, computed from S11 and plotted against frequency.
“Show a Smith chart for S11”
The reflection coefficient on a Smith chart, for a one-port (.s1p) file. Hover any point to read the frequency it belongs to.
How it works
Upload your file
Drag the .sNp file onto the page or pick it from disk. It is parsed in the background.
Type what you want to see
Write it the way you would say it to a colleague. There are no menus to learn; the prompt cheatsheet has worked examples if you want a starting point.
Read the chart, refine by typing
Zoom, hover for values, and drop markers on points of interest. Want something different? Type the change instead of clicking through settings, and the plot updates.
Questions people ask first
Which files can I open?
Any Touchstone
.snpfile —.s1p,.s2p,.s3pand so on. For now, each file can be up to 30 MB. What is actually inside one is explained in how to open an .s2p file.Is there a size limit?
30 MB per file, and up to 30,001 frequency points. A swept measurement almost never comes close; a long time-domain export sometimes does, and decimating it before upload is the fix.
What happens to my file after I upload it?
It is deleted automatically after 12 hours of inactivity, and sooner if you ask: “Remove file” deletes it and its caches immediately, and uploading a new file deletes the previous one. Only one file is kept per session, there is no library and nothing is kept to look at later. The full detail is in the privacy notice.
Is anything sent to a third party?
Yes, and it is worth knowing which part. Turning your sentence into a plot specification is done by OpenAI, so your prompt text and context derived from your file are sent there; the plot itself is computed on our own servers. Please do not upload confidential, personal or export-controlled data you are not authorized to share with a third-party AI provider. The privacy notice lists every processor by name.
Do I need an account, and what does it cost?
Neither. AskSNP is free, there is no account to create and no sign-in, and nothing is installed or downloaded — it runs in the browser you already have open.
Skip the menus. Type the plot.
Drop in a file and say what you want to see. Nothing is installed and no account is created.
